The Toolbar is the modeling tool strip used within the Modeling Area. It gives you quick access to the most common sketching and 3D modeling actions without opening the Command Bar.
What the Toolbar Does
The Toolbar helps you:
- Start or edit sketches
- Create 3D features such as Extrude, Revolve, Loft, and Sweep
- Add finishing features such as Fillet and Chamfer
- Access sketch geometry, editing tools, and constraints while sketching
- Stay in a mouse-driven workflow while modeling
How It Changes with Mode
The Toolbar is context-aware. What you see depends on whether you are:
- modeling in 3D
- editing a traditional sketch
- using solver-based sketch mode
In 3D modeling, the Toolbar focuses on feature creation and modification. In sketching, it switches to sketch geometry, editing tools, and constraints.
Common Toolbar Actions
Typical actions available from the Toolbar include:
Start SketchorEdit SketchExtrudeSweepLoftRevolve- sketch geometry tools such as line, arc, and rectangle
- sketch editing and constraint tools while sketching
Why Use the Toolbar
- It keeps common actions visible while you work
- It is useful when learning the app because the tools are easier to discover visually
- It exposes hotkeys and tooltips for many commands
- It reduces the need to search for common modeling commands
Toolbar vs Top Bar vs Command Bar
- The Top Bar contains project, sharing, and account controls
- The Toolbar contains modeling and sketching actions
- The Command Bar is fastest for keyboard-driven workflows and less common commands
